Sunday, October 25, 6 pm. Red Mountain will launch two major books, fragile by Jeffrey Thomson and LIFTED TO THE WIND POEMS 1974-2015 by Susan Gardner. Sunday, October 25, 2015, 6 pm at Teatro Paraguas, 3205 Calle Marie, Santa Fe, NM 87507 Readings will be followed by book signings and reception.

Poet Laureate Initiative

Red Mountain Press and the New Mexico State Poetry Society launched an initiative to establish a state poet laureate in New Mexico. To further this effort and to celebrate the laureates already among us, on Sunday, November 3, 2013. Several poets laureate from around the country attended along with members of the vibrant New Mexico literary community, officials from the state Department of Cultural Affairs and some legislators.

The poets laureate are Denise Low (Kansas), Walter Bargen (Missouri), Luci Tapahonso (Navajo Nation), and Michael Glaser (Maryland).They had a conversation about their states’ laureate programs and then read their poetry. The afternoon concluded with a reception and book signings.
